Adam Redmond

Adam graduated from the University of Calgary with a degree specializing in Biomechanics. During his time at the UofC, Adam was fortunate to work and learn under some of the world’s leading Biomechanists. Adam graduated with honours and finished his academic career on the Dean’s List. In addition, he is the co-author of “How skate sharpening affects individual skating performance in ice hockey” as well as being named a finalist in the International Sport and Engineering Student Competition for his work on the same research project. Not only did Adam thrive in the classroom but also as an athlete. Adam grew up competitively playing hockey and went on to play 5 years of CIS hockey with the UofC Dinos after playing 3 years in the WHL with the Tri City Americans and Medicine Hat Tigers. For Adam’s entire student/athlete career at UofC he was named as an Academic All-Canadian. Adam’s hockey career has led him to teaching power skating to athletes across the world with Steve Serdachny and training athletes in the gym with Doug Crashley at Crash Conditioning. Adam is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and has spent time working with elite athletes to personal training clients looking to improve their health and general fitness. Being a sports and outdoor enthusiast, Adam began mountain biking and road cycling as a means of cross training in the summer for hockey. With his competitive hockey career being over, Adam now focuses his energy and competitive spirit towards triathlons, road cycling, rock climbing, surfing, golfing, scuba diving and pretty much anything that promotes a healthy, active lifestyle.
Adam’s passion for working with athletes and more specifically critically analyzing their mechanics led him to start Speed Matrix. With his passion and expertise, Adam’s goal is to give athletes the means to effectively working on the proper mechanics of their specific sport by providing real time, insightful, biomechanical feedback.
Rory Winder
BSc. Biological Sciences
Bike Fit Specialist
Rory graduated from the University of Alberta with a specialized degree in the Biological Sciences. While attending the UofA he developed a refined interest for strength training and conditioning. He has maintained an active interest in road biking, mountain biking, rock climbing, snowboarding and running for many years. He first became interested in bike fitting through years of continually tweaking his own bikes in search of that perfect bike fit. Rory’s hard work and passion for the sport of cycling has proved him to be a valuable asset to Speed Matrix as he is still continually striving to help customers find their own perfect fit.
Jim Loggie
BSc. Physical Education
Director
Jim has been a valued member of the Speed Matrix team since it’s original inception back in the late 1990′s. Jim brings a wealth of cycling and triathlon knowledge to the group as he spent years training and racing with the Alberta provincial and Canadian National Triathlon teams back in the ’80′s and 90′s. Jim continues to train and race as a part of his healthy, active lifestyle and overall love for the sport.
